This is a social welfare initiative started by the state government to overcome caste-based discrimination in our society. The scheme is connected with the central government Dr Ambedkar Foundation, in which financial support will be provided to couples who do Inter Caste marriage. Objective of the CG Inter Caste Marriage Scheme

Financial Support In the Inter Caste Marriage Scheme

In this scheme, an eligible Inter Caste couple will get a financial support of 3 lakh rupees. The couple will receive Rs 50,000 from the Chhattisgarh state government, and the remaining Rs 2.5 Lakh will be received from the central government.

In this scheme, the financial support amount will be given directly into the joint bank account of the couple.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be the permanent president of Chhattisgarh state. Which means that both the bride and groom must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of the state.
  • An Inter Caste couple is eligible if one form couple (Groom or Bride) belong to schedule cast or the scheduled tribe and the other person of the couple belongs to non schedule cast category, like General, OBC, or Upper Cast.
  • The marriage should be legally registered under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. After the registration, a registration certificate is required.
  • The groom’s age is at least 21 years, and the bride’s age should be at least 18 years at the time of marriage
  • The annual income of the couple is within the limit, which is set by the state government to receive this financial support.
  • The financial support amount is only available for the first marriage.
  • The applicant couple has applied for this incentive within one year of their date of marriage. After that, the application will be rejected.
  • In case any information in your form is found to be false or incorrect, your application form will be rejected.

Chhattisgarh Inter Caste Marriage Scheme Application Process

  • The first step is you have to collect all your documents, which are self-attested.
  • Take the application form from your local social welfare office, Jilla Panchayat or Panchayat Samiti. You can also download the application form from the official website:- tribal.cg.gov.in
  • Now fill the application form with your basic details like the names of both bride and groom in different sections, address, marriage date, marriage registration date and other basic details.
  • All the details, we advise you to cross-check your details before submission.
  • For application form submission, all the documents should be submitted to the District social welfare officer, Zila Parishad or Panchayat Smiti office.
  • After submission, the officials will cross-check all the documents and check your application form. You will be notified through SMS in case of any progress.
  • When your application form is accepted, then field verification will be organised.
