Chirayu Yojana was launched in 2014 in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is a joint scheme of the state and the Chhattisgarh government in which free treatment will be provided to children having congenital and serious illnesses who belong to poor and low-income families. Under this scheme, people living in remote areas of Chhattisgarh benefit. The name of this scheme, Chirayu, means long life or good health.

Objective of Chirayu Yojana

How to get the benefit of Chirayu Yojana?
- This is a Scheme in which a government official will do a screening of the children in Chhattisgarh. Families do not need to visit any government official or fill out the form.
- Initially, the Chirayu teams are deployed in blocks, districts, and villages of Chhattisgarh.
- These teams will regularly do screening. Camp-based screening will be conducted in Anagawadi centres, Government schools, Residential schools, etc.

- Once a child is identified with any health condition, the Chirayu team do all the diagnostic tests and treatment at zero cost.
