CG Mukhyamantri Bijli Bill Bhugtan Samadhan Yojana was launched by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on 12th March 2026. This scheme is launched for the general public, in which any person having a previous pending electricity bill can now pay their billing and continue their electricity connection. For the successful implementation of the scheme, the state government gave this responsibility to State Power Distribution Company Limited.

This company has worked to provide electricity and collect bills from all over the state. The state government is removing the entire surcharge for the pending bills. It means that you have to just pay the pending bill, and the surcharge will be waived. So this is a very big relaxation on the pending bills.

Consumers can pay this outstanding amount according to their convenience. In this process, you will get an additional discount if you pay the entire balance amount in one time. Consumers also have an option to pay the pending bill in a lump sum amount or make easy instalments. This scheme helps consumers who belong to the BPL category, domestic consumers and farmers who have pending bills from last year. Consumers can pay their pending bills and make payments in their normal routine. They will also be eligible to get the electricity subsidy in future.

For the successful implementation, the government also organises registration camps in different districts.

Keeping this problem in mind, the state government started Mukhyamantri Bijli Bill Bhugtan Samadhan Yojana, which will provide relief to the consumers, and they can easily resolve outstanding electricity bills. Special discounts will be provided to the BPL domestic and agricultural consumers. BPL consumers will get 75% rebate on the principal amount and also get 100% rebate on the surcharge.

Inactive domestic and agricultural consumers will get 50% rebate on the principal amount and 100% rebate on the surcharge. With this scheme, 28.42 lakhs electricity consumers will benefit. With this scheme, the state government will collect 1566 Crore Rupees as a pending bill amount, and consumers will get the benefit of 757 Crore Ruupees.

• In this scheme, different types of benefits will be provided to different consumers.
• Inactive BPL consumers will get a rebate of 75% on the Principal Amount and 100% reabtae on Surcharge.
• Inactive Domestic Consumers and Agricultural Consumers will get 50% Rebate on the Principal Amount and 100% Rebate on the surcharge.
• Consumers can choose the one-time payment or the instalment option according to their requirements and preferences.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant should be a registered electricity consumer and have a legal electricity connection.
• The scheme is only applicable for the domestic, BPL and agricultural consumers.
• Applicants having pending applications before the 31st of March 2023 are eligible for this scheme.
• The electricity connection will be active according to the records of the Electricity Distribution Company.
• Consumers have to register themselves within the given time. Consumers also have to agree on the payment method, which is a one-time settlement or an easy instalment mode.

Consumers who have a pending bill for a very long time now take advantage of Mukhyamantri Bijli Bill Bhugtan Samadhan Yojana. In this scheme, consumers can pay the outstanding bill, and their surcharge will be waived. For registration, follow the steps:-

• First, you have to visit the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited official website.
• On this page, you will see the Download Mor Bijli App.
• To connect with a consumer account, you have to enter your consumer number details and then login.
• When you successfully login then, the system will automatically show you the pending bill details.
• Now you have opt pending bill payment mode. In this, you can choose a one-time payment or an instalment option.
• After choosing your payment mode, pay the pending electricity bill. When your payment is completed, download the payment receipt for future reference.

Offline Process

• For offline registration or Offline Payment, you can visit your nearest electricity department office.
• You can take the help of the electricity board employees for registration.
• The other offline option is to visit special camps. The department organised special camps for this scheme.
