To make women self-reliant by generating income for their family, the Chhattisgarh state is taking major steps for it by introducing the Lakhpati Didi Yojana Chhattisgarh. In which the government linked the women with the Self Help Groups. By joining these groups, women can be involved in various financial activities and increase the income of their families.

Government having the targeted to generate an income of the women of Rs.1 lakh or more per year. From the date of launch of this scheme, 8 lakh women have become the Lakhpati by joining this program. The government, from time to time, encourages women to participate in this scheme to get extra income, organise business trips, skill training, etc. Now, women are being targeted to link the 10 lakh women with this scheme.

Features of the Scheme

• Motive: Government trying to make all the women financially independent through small enterprises in the state via a self-help group.
• Scope of Scheme: The Government wishes to make 10 lakh women Lakhpati Didi all over the state. To date, there are 8 Lakhs women become the Lakhpati didi and are earning Lakhs of rupees.
• Scheme Implementation: The Bihan Mission provides skill training, financial support through loans, and market support to all the beneficiaries.
• Financial Support: Soft loan up to Rs 5 Lakhs will also be given to the women.
• Extra Income: All the beneficiary women can earn extra income for their family with the help of small businesses like tailoring, husbandry, etc.
• Additional Benefits: Now recently with new announcement, the government has also started the Tour scheme for these women.

Eligibility for Lakhpati Didi Yojana

• Residency: Applicant women can be permanent residents of the Chhattisgarh state and belong to the rural areas.
• Membership: To become the Lakhpati Didi in this scheme, every need to be a part of or become a member of the Self Help Group.
• Age Criteria of Women: Every female applicant must belong to the age group between 18 years to 50 years.
• Income Limit: The income of the women’s family is not more than Rs. 1 lakh.
• Interest: Women also have an interest in the skill training to start any micro business.
• Loan Facilities: The Government provides the loan upto Rs. 5 Lakhs to beneficiaries.

• To identify the Identity of the women, an Aadhar Card was required.
• To show your residence proof of the state, share your Domicile or Bonafide certificate.
• Membership proof of the concerned Self Help Group.
• To access income and Loan facilities need to submit your Bank account number, which also needs to be linked with your given Aadhar Card.
• Submit your documents like Ration Card copy for family income status, Recent Clicked passport size photograph and a valid active Phone number.

Benefits of the scheme

• The main benefits after knowing which every women participate in this scheme is to provide financial help to their families. It means this scheme focuses on increasing the income of the family through the Self-Help group Rs. 1 lakh per year.
• Income can be generated by doing a small business, and to run the business, loan facilities are also provided by the government through banks, which are up to Rs 20 Lakhs. For this loan, there is no collateral required.
• Not only the financial support, but the government also trained the participants, women, by providing them with skill training, in which they will get the training to operate drones, stitch clothes, etc.
• Revolving Fund facilities from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 will also be provided to every self-help group.
• The government gives a subsidy on the interest rate, so that everyone can pay back the loan.
